A first half of 19th century French white marble and gilt metal mounted pillar clock by Gavelles L'ainé à Paris Surmounted by an urn and twin sphere finials moulded on a pair of stop-fluted columns on an inverted breakfront base on toupie feet, the signed enamel 4.25 inch Arabic dial with Arabic quarters and pierced gilt hands, the spring driven movement with silk suspension and outside countwheel strike on a bell, the pendulum with cast bob in the form of a female mask, 28cm wide, 10cm deep, 43cm high.
