There are two ways of buying Furniture and Objects through The Pedestal:

FIXED PRICE BUYING- Our online Selling platform lists Furniture and Objects from our consignors with a fixed selling price.

AUCTIONS - Our traditional auctions where you are able to bid for lots consigned by clients specifically for auction.

In both instances the items are catalogued, photographed and researched by our specialists and are available for viewing at our warehouse if required.


Fixed Price Buying

Items for immediate purchase with The Pedestal are available to view on our Shop Now page. If there is something of interest to you please contact us directly for condition reports or to chat to one of our specialists on 0207 291 2790 or contact us via email at  Alternatively those items may be viewed through our Online Galleries Homepage or to purchase through our 1stdibs store.

Viewing and collection is by appointment only at our warehouse which is on the Oxfordshire/Wiltshire border. If you are not able to arrange collection yourself we are able to assist you with a shipping quotation.

At our auctions you can bid in person live in the auction room or by leaving a commission bid in advance or booking a telephone bid. You can also bid live online following the auction from wherever you happen to be.

Live bidding in our auctions is available online through The Saleroom, Invaluable and Live Auctioneers.

Payment, Storage and Collection

Payment for all lots purchased including all associated fees, charges and taxes, is due no later than 7 calendar days after the auction. Payment can be made only by the registered bidder. Payment instructions can be found the relevant invoice or invoices. Please note that we do not accept payment by credit card.

A buyer’s premium of 24% on the first £50,000 of the hammer price of each lot, and 20% of any portion of such hammer price which is above £50,000, plus VAT is applicable. There are additional charges for lots purchased online via online third party platforms, please check with your preferred site before bidding.

All lots not collected from Moor Park by midday on the following day of the sale must be collected from:

Alban Shipping storage charges:

There is a free period of storage for 14 days 

After 14 calendar days charges are as follows:-
Handling Uplift charges, per lot small item £20.00 
Medium item £25.00 
Large item £30.00 
Insurance 0.30 % + IPT of the buyers invoice.
Storage charges, per lot small item per day £3.50 
Medium item per day £7.50 
Large per day £12.50

Collections may be made between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. You are advised to arrange a collection time in advance to help avoid delays. Alban Shipping will be pleased to quote for delivery if you wish them to do so.

Collections must be made within 14 days after the auction. Storage and handling fees will be charged in relation to lots left uncollected after that date at Alban Shipping’s standard rates. All lots must be paid for in full before collection.

Collections of sold lots can be made from Moor Park up until midday on the following day of the sale.

£50,000 - £100,000 – 5000
£100,000 and above – increments at the discretion of the auctioneer
