A Chinese Export silver tea kettle and spirit stand, maker's mark of KH, Shanghai, circa 1900

Marked with KH, Chinese character Mark and '85', the kettle with hinged cover and fixed handle with ivory insulators, sides chased with herons and smaller birds amidst bamboo and iris swamp, birds perched on branches flowering with cherry blossom and chrysanthemums flanking a vacant shield cartouche, on simulated bamboo stand with detachable spirit lamp, 32cm high, 15.4cm wide, 41 oz. (1271 gm.)

NB: Requires a CITES license if exported outside the EU This lot contains ivory and because the US Government has banned the import of ivory into the country this cannot be exported to the USA.
