A set of four George III silver Corinthian column candlesticks with filled bases, by William Abdy (I), London, 1768

With bead borders and bead-punched nozzles, the square bases with alternate plain and beaded flutes and acanthus leaf corners all above two wavy bands, fully marked on foot rims maker's mark and lion passant to detachable nozzles, small pheasant crest to top of each nozzle, green baize over wood bases, 31cm. high. (4)
