A set of three George III vase-shaped silver tea caddies, maker's mark indistinct, London, 1769

Of ovoid, part spirally fluted form, applied above the fluting with masks and ribbon-tied laurel swags below upright ring handles, on pedestal foot with gadroon borders, conforming domed covers with knop finials, each engraved with a fox statant crest, the larger example 20cm. high, the smaller pair 17.5cm high, 39.5 oz. (1224 gm.) (3).
