A pair of William III silver candlesticks by Richard Syng, London, 1698
with cylindrical fluted columns, wide octagonal knops and conforming bases, with gadroon borders, the fluted bases incorporating vacant oval cartouches flanked by foliate scroll mantling, the bases of both sticks engraved with combined scratch-weight '13=5=0', 16 cm. high, 13 oz. (403 gm.)
