A set of three carved oak panels, English, circa 1550
Depicting Edward VI (1547-1553), King Solomon and the Motto of the Order of the Garter ‘Honi soit qui mal y pense’ around a Tudor Rose
King Edward with his right hand on his sword, King Solomon holding a staff of office in his right hand, each within a carved border, mounted in modern oak and marblised parcel gilt frames, each 42.5cm square including frame.(3)
