This model of chest is of a type produced by the Gillow firm from the 1820s-1860s and proved a popular model now considered to be one of the designs most synonymous with firm in the middle years to the 19th century.

A George IV mahogany and crossbanded chest attributed to Gillows
The rectangular moulded top above a panelled deep drawer and three long graduated drawers, on turned bun feet, with rosewood turned handles, 120cm wide, 55cm deep, 109cm high.
